Carrickshock
Carrickshock GAA was founded in 1928. The role of the club originally was to amalgamate two local parishes(Ballyhale and Aghavillar) and enable them to take on strongholds like Tullaroan, Mooncoin and large Urban Clubs such as Eire Og and Dicksboro within Kilkenny City.In it’s early years the club won six County Senior titles. Since the clubs resurgance in the 1970’s people identify strongly with the Club and are proud of their current compliment of County Men, three of whom played in Kilkenny’s historic “four in a row” All Ireland final in 2009.
