Naomh Brid

Since Naomh Brid’s establishment in 1976 it has provided a sporting and social focal point to members of the immediate area and further afield. Through the work of their volunteers down through the years, the young, and not so young, have been provided with facilities, coaching and encouragement to get involved and improve their skills in Gaelic Games. There is great pride in both villages before match-day, with the match being the central conversation topic during the week before a game. There is also immense satisfaction when the community witnesses a club player representing the county on a big match day in Croke Park. (Matt Gallagher 1992, David Walsh 2011).
