Off the Ball Roadshow with Ulster Bank off to a flying start!
After two very successful opening live broadcasts in the West, the Off the Ball Roadshow with Ulster Bank is in full flow and heading for the ‘Wee County’ as Louth prepare for their first GAA Football Leinster Senior Final in 50 years.
The live broadcasts are part of the ‘Off The Ball Roadshow with Ulster Bank’, which gives people the opportunity to witness the award winning show broadcast live from popular GAA haunts across the country, as part of Ulster Bank’s sponsorship of the 2010 GAA Football All-Ireland Championships.

Sligo
The tour kicked off in Sligo with over 250 guests packed into Shenanigans Bar & Restaurant on Bridge Street. A selection of past GAA legends.

Galway
Galway, enjoying the second successive year on the Roadshow, welcomed Republic of Ireland, Manchester United and Dublin GAA legend, Kevin Moran, to another crammed live broadcast from Kelly’s Bar & Lounge, Bridge Street. read more
Moran was joined by Ulster Bank and Galway GAA stars, Joe Bergin and Finian Hanley, along with GAA greats Bernard Flynn, David Brady and Jamesie O’Connor.

Louth
The third ‘Off the Ball Roadshow with Ulster Bank’ was broadcast live from Louth on Monday, 5th July 2010. read more
The show featured a selection of sporting legends including renowned football pundit and former Republic of Ireland football icon, John Giles. Newstalk and Ulster Bank brought GAA greats, Seamus O’Hanlon (Louth) and Bernard Flynn (Meath) to join the show before the Leinster Final. The event took place at McPhails Bar, Drogheda, Co. Louth.

Monaghan
Following the Louth broadcast, the team made their way to Monaghan for what proved to be a knock out show. read more
The people of Monaghan turned out in force to witness a truly impressive line-up. The Off the Ball team were joined by Irish boxing hero, Barry McGuigan, and Monaghan GAA legend, Eugene “Nudie” Hughes. Also joining the panel were, Meath GAA legend, Bernard Flynn, and former Cavan manager, Tommy Carr.

Waterford
The next county to host the Off the Ball Roadshow with Ulster Bank was Waterford. read more
This was the first time the Roadshow stopped in Waterford, with Mason’s Sports Bar on Manor Street playing the perfect host for what proved to be an exceptional show. Ulster Bank and Newstalk brought Manchester United legend, Pat Crerand, former Waterford Football Manager, John Kiely, and Waterford United legend Alfie Hale to Waterford, to entertain the lively audience.

Cork
Following the massive success of Off the Ball’s live broadcast in Cork during the 2009 Roadshow with Ulster Bank, a repeat performance was a must. read more
Taking over Clancy’s Bar on Princes Street, the show provided the perfect atmosphere on the Monday before Cork’s victorious clash with Dublin in the 2010 GAA Football Championship semi-final. Ulster Bank and Cork GAA hurling stars, Seán Óg Ó hAilpín and John Gardiner, and Ulster Bank and Cork GAA football hero, Colm O’Neill, were amongst the all-star line up. Once again, the rebels provided a night to remember.
The tour will now head to Monaghan on July 19th followed by trips to Tipperary, Cork and Dublin throughout the summer.

To coincide with Ulster Bank’s sponsorship of the 2010 GAA Football Championship, Ulster Bank have been running a series of local events, which have been taking place in Ulster Bank branches around the country since the end of July – titled ‘A GAA Evening with Ulster Bank’.
The events give local GAA communities the opportunity to meet some of Ireland’s most exciting GAA stars and pose questions during a panel discussion as part of the event. Attendees also have the opportunity to gain ‘Ulster Bank Vouchers’ which can be exchanged for Ulster Bank GAA merchandise including footballs, kit bags and sliotars. Ulster Bank customers who were unable to attend the event can enquire in-branch as to how they can obtain Ulster Bank Vouchers.
From Donegal to Offaly, Galway to Cork, Kilkenny to Dublin, and numerous locations in between, local communities have been given the opportunity to meet GAA greats such as, Donegal legend, Manus Boyle, Cork and Ulster Bank GAA stars, Seán Óg Ó hAilpín and John Gardiner, Ulster Bank and Galway GAA stars, Joe Bergin and Finian Hanley, Tipperary football manager, John Evans, Tipperary hurling manager, Babs Keating, Limerick football hero, Stephen Lucey, Ulster Bank and Kilkenny GAA star, Michael Fennelly, and a host of other GAA personalities.

Ulster Bank GAA stars Joe Bergin and Finian Hanley, Galway, and Michael Savage and Cian O’Sullivan, Dublin, welcomed pupils from schools to Croke Park as part of the Ulster Bank/Irish News competition where five lucky classes won a school trip of a lifetime which included a tour of the famous Croke Park stadium while also meeting some of the biggest GAA stars in the country.
