How did you first get involved in playing GAA Football?
First involvement would have been through my local club Mountbellew / Moylough

What is your earliest memory of playing with your local club?
Training on a Saturday morning learning the basic skills of the game.

How much of an influence did your club and club members have on
you?

Club had a massive influence on me.  It’s where you started playing football and it’s where you will finish your playing days.  The club is where you learn all the basic skills and develop into a footballer.  It’s the club that set the platform for allowing me achieve the levels I have reached.  Club members who would have played for the county over the years would have been a huge influence and inspiration to me.

How important do you think your GAA club is to your community?
It’s huge.  The club particularly in rural areas is the heart of the community.  It brings so many people together both young and old.

When did you make your county debut?
Championship May 2000

What’s your match day ritual?
Don’t have any!

What is the most memorable match you’ve played in?
All Ireland Final 2001 V’s Meath

Who out of all the football GAA players is the most
inspirational to you?

Michael Donnellan / Padraic Joyce

What is your number one tip for prospective players?
Work on developing your weaker side.  It’s alot easier to improve this the younger you are and very important to be comfortable on both feet particularly at the higher levels.

How long have you been working in Ulster Bank?
5 years

What is your favourite venue to play in?
Croke Park

What’s the toughest part of the championship?
The long gaps between games.

What’s the best thing about playing for your county?
Big Championship match days.
