How did you first get involved in playing GAA Football?
Our club held an under 10 blitz every weekend during the summer months so started to go along to that when I was seven or eight.
What is your earliest memory of playing with your local club?
Getting changed in an old tin container at the side of our local pitch and sitting on bags of sheep nuts to get kitted out.
How much of an influence did your club and club members have on
you?
Ever since a young age I always had great support, advice, coaching, and friendship from all club members and still get all that from them.
How important do you think your GAA club is to your community?
Extremely important, our club have a great under-age ladies and mens’ structure with great facilities to accommodate everyone and I think its very important to get them out at 7 or 8 years of age like they did when I was that age.
When did you make your county debut?
May 2004 Ulster Championship versus Antrim
What’s your match day ritual?
Don’t have any, stay relaxed as possible, eat the right food and get plenty of water on board.
What is the most memorable match you’ve played in?
International Rules Second Test versus Australia in Croke Park in 2006.
Who out of all the football GAA players is the most
inspirational to you?
Present-Michael Murphy Past-Kieran McGeeney
What is your number one tip for prospective players?
Have the belief that anything is possible and work hard.
How long have you been working in Ulster Bank?
10 months
What is your favourite venue to play in?
Croke Park
What’s the toughest part of the championship?
Quarter Final, so close but yet so far!
What’s the best thing about playing for your county?
Championship day! Nothing beats playing on a warm summer’s day in front of a sea of green and gold.
